Mashel Law's Class Action Lawsuits
To introduce the new “Firm News” section to our website, I believe it appropriate to place focus on our class action cases which have fast become a prominent part of our firm’s cases/claims portfolio. A "class action" lawsuit is one in which a group of people with the same or similar injuries caused by the same product, action, and/ or inaction, file a lawsuit against the offending company as a group. This past year we successfully concluded a multi-million-dollar class action lawsuit brought against Lowe’s Home Improvements on behalf of small millwork contractors. Earlier this year we successfully fended off an attempt to by Bed Bath & Beyond which sought dismissal of a wage and hour class action lawsuit brought against the company on behalf of assistant store managers and department managers. This year we also filed nationwide wage and hour class lawsuits against Santander Bank, N.A. on behalf of its Branch Operations Managers and Trans World Entertainment Corporation on behalf of its store managers and senior assistant store managers, and a nationwide breach of contract class suit against Lyft, Inc on behalf of drivers who opted out of arbitration. We strongly believe these class claims to be provable and intend to aggressively pursue fair and reasonable resolutions for our clients and the classes of workers they seek to represent.
